Rotundo has been active in State and Washington D.C. politics since his graduation from FTU/UCF in 1975. He worked as an aide to U.S. Senator Lawton Chiles and as a lobbyist for the state of Florida in Washington and Tallahassee. He was a member of the faculty of UCF from 1980-1988 and Special Assistant to the President of UCF from 1984-1987. Since 1988, he has been the principal of Rotundo and Associates, a lobbying and consultant business firm based in Central Florida.
Rotundo has represented a long list of clients in Central Florida and throughout the United States. His focus is legislation, strategic planning, and business development. A partial list of his clients have included: Darden Restaurants, the University of Hawaii Natural Energy Institute, the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research, created the Central Florida Commuter Rail Authority (now LYNX), Alachua County, the City of Altamonte Springs, the City of Maitland, the City of Ocoee, the City of Deltona, the City of Treasure Island, Florida Institute of Technology, Morrison's Restaurants, Emerson International, created the West Orange Airport Authority and the west Orange/south Lake County Transportation Task Force, the Florida Central Railroad, Kitson Partners, GL Homes, Falcone Development, the United States Tennis Association, the Florida Grapefruit League, and Orlando Sanford International Inc.
