Mr. Gladding received his B.A. from Yale University in 1967, and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1970.  While in law school, he was Brief Editor of the Moot Court Executive Board, Note Editor of The Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and recipient of the United States Law Week Award.  After law school, he served four years in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and for two years he was an instructor of military law and procedure at the United States Naval Justice School.

Mr. Gladding joined Dunlap & Moran, P.A. in 2012.  He has been practicing law since 1970.  He is a business lawyer with special expertise in environmental law.  In December 2008, Mr. Gladding was appointed by Florida Governor Charlie Crist to the Florida Energy and Climate Commission, which gave him an opportunity to help create new jobs, help the climate, and enhance National Security.  Mr. Gladding was named one of nine Commissioner appointees who helped guide state energy policy.  In July 2009, Governor Crist named him a volunteer “Point of Light” for his work on energy issues.  In September 2009, the Governor reappointed him to a second term of three years on the Florida Energy and Climate Commission.  He was confirmed as an FECC Commissioner by a unanimous vote of the Florida Senate in April 2010.

Mr. Gladding is admitted to The Florida Bar, as well as the Bar of Missouri and Connecticut.  He is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources; The Florida Bar Environmental and Land Use Law Section; and the Sarasota County Bar Association.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, where he is currently Chairman of the Board, as well as Past Chair of the Government Issues Council and founding past member and former Chair of the Green Business Leadership Council.
