Dr. Qin received her B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China in 2006, and her Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the State University of New York-College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2011. Her graduate research focused on the development of hydrogen storage materials for fuel cell vehicles, funded by the USDOE Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program. She joined the Florida Solar Energy Center as a Postdoctoral Associate in 2012. Since then she has led several projects aiming at developing light-weight hydrogen storage materials, space radiation shielding materials, and hydrogen sensors. Dr. Qin will be contributing in multiple technical projects in the EVTC Program.
