The useful information on FSEC's web site has been enhanced with the addition of a searchable database of hydrogen research projects in Florida. "The Florida Hydrogen Research Database" was created by Deputy Director Philip Fairey and Safvat Kalaghchy, Director of Computing and Information Technologies, and Larry Abdullah, Computer Application Coordinator and Database Administrator. It can be viewed at https://securedb2.fsec.ucf.edu/hr .

David Block, the center's Director Emeritus who supervised the project, noted that it began when Allan Bedwell, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Deputy Secretary of Regulatory Programs and Energy, told center staff that a database that included all the hydrogen research projects in the state would be extremely valuable, and asked the center staff to develop this listing.

Block noted that anyone interested in directed research can use the search capabilities of the database to narrow the projects to those of particular interest. For example, entering a key word such as "production" results in 15 sites concerning research on hydrogen production. The list is being continually updated.

Anyone who is conducting hydrogen research in Florida can apply to become an editor authorized to input and edit the content for a specific project or group of projects by filling out the online form. The developers of the database expect it to grow rapidly in the coming months to become a valuable tool for those seeking information about Florida's capabilities in hydrogen research.
