Achieving Zero Energy Green Homes 12-course Webinar series will teach students the key strategies to design, build and operate a zero energy home -
a home that produces as much energy as it uses. Course 1 begins on June 3, 2009.

Effective June 1, 2009, new Florida homes will have to achieve a HERS Index of 77 or lower to earn the government's most recognized symbol for efficiency. |
Building America Partners Rise to DOE Challenge

What Gets Hot, For Less

shed, FSEC researchers run seven
types of water heaters to find the
most efficient and cost effective ones. The researchers began their
year-long experiment this year in
the new Hot Water Systems Laboratory
located in Cocoa. The systems include conventional
and tankless electric water
heaters, as well as natural gas and
three different solar systems.
