There are three advisory boards and councils: Steering Committee, Advisory Board, and the National Administrator.
The Steering Committee’s purpose is to coordinate all the programs and activities within the networks activities. It is the prime committee that directs the network activities. The Steering Committee is composed of the contact individuals from each of the partner states and territories. As faculty and instructors are trained, these individuals will become members of the Steering Committee. The members of the Steering Committee are:
This Advisory Board was appointed for the purpose of insuring that the curriculum and training is responsive to industry and market demands. The mission and composition of the Advisory Board was determined in consultation with the partnership states, the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Consortium. The board is comprised of 15-25 members representing education and training, the solar industry, state and federal government agencies and selected regional economic development and workforce boards. The outputs of this task are recommendations on maintaining the programs, suggesting means of integrating the Network’s needs, expanding Workforce programs, encouraging partnerships between educational institutions and industries, and providing methods for sustainability.
